NOTICE - WE CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE A MOM'S IN TOUCH GROUP IN GETTYSBURG.  IF YOU ARE INTERESTED PLEASE CONTACT SUSAN KARPPALA AT 642-8453.  IT JUST TAKES 2 TO START A GROUP!

Mom's of all types. . . young ones, old ones, mom's-to-be, grandma's, even great grandma's are welcome to come together to pray for our children, grand-children, their schools and community children, etc.  twice each month on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.   We meet at the Gettysburg Adventist Church at 1495 Biglerville Road in Gettysburg.

While the mom's meet, pre-school age and up kids are invited to the Gettysburg Seventh-day Adventist school for singing, music, instrumentals and fellowship followed with the Pastor's Devotional.  Your children will hear lively stories and lessons about character building, Jesus's love, obedience, purity, truth, kindness, respect, attentiveness, consequences, helpfulness, cheerfulness, thoughtfulness, reverence, and more...   There will be child care for children aged birth - pre-school.

Brief History of Moms In Touch International -
In the fall of 1984, founder, Fern Nichols' two oldest children (of four) were entering junior high school. Her heart was heavy and burdened with concern as she knew they would be facing their greatest test in resisting immoral values, vulgar language, peer pressure and philosophies that would undermine their faith.  She cried out to the Lord asking Him to protect them, enable them to see clearly the difference between right and wrong, and make good decisions.

  • Moms In Touch International is an interdenominational, Christ-centered ministry.

  • Moms who believe that prayer makes a difference

    Our Purpose is . . . .

  • To stand in the gap for our children through prayer
  • To pray that our children will receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, then stand boldly in their faith.
  • To pray for teachers, administrative staff, and students
  • To provide support and encouragement to moms who carry heavy burdens for their children, especially those with wayward or special needs.
  • To pray that our schools may be directed by Biblical values and high moral standards.
  • To be an encouragement and a positive support to our schools

    In Starting this Group . . . .

    • Pray that God brings other moms who will be willing to meet with us every other week for prayer.  In faith, ask a mom to come along with you to pray for your child and his/her school.
    • Make a list of prospective moms and ask them to join your prayer time.
    • Follow the Moms In Touch International (MITI) guidelines and format for prayer time.
    • Make sure you are controlled by the Holy Spirit.  Trust God for answers to prayer, focus on Him, and expect great things to happen.
    • We encourage you to order a Moms In Touch booklet.  The booklet contains important and useful information for starting a group:
                      - Guidelines and suggestions for forming a group.
                    - Scriptures to pray for your children
                    - How to encourage school staff and administration.
                    - How to pray conversationally with "one accord" praying.

    • Come as you are.

    • Be faithful in meeting for one hour on a weekly basis.  Make this hour a solid commitment to pray.

    • Start and finish on time.  If some moms would care to stay longer for fellowship and sharing, do so following the prayer time.

    • Do not serve refreshments.  This could be a distraction for your group and an unnecessary burden for the hostess.

    •  The Moms In Touch prayer and praise format.

    Each Mom Needs . . . .

    • A Bible, notebook and a Member Sheet (page 37 of the newly revised Moms In Touch booklet).

    • Her own Moms In Touch International booklet.

    • To allow another person the privilege of caring for her preschool children during this hour.
